Mission Statement: To assist Bethune-Cookman University
in providing qualified music students with funds to achieve their vision.
Education for their professional development
At AMA, we firmly believe that every aspiring artist and student deserves the opportunity to follow their passions. We are dedicated to providing the support and resources needed to help them excel both in their musical endeavors and academic pursuits.
Our mission is fueled by the ambition to grant these talented individuals the chance to transform their aspirations into achievements, ultimately shaping a more promising and brilliant future.
This tribute goes out to an extraordinary man, Edward “Creamy" Hayes, Jr., on behalf of his loving wife Joeretha Hayes and his daughter LaVeta C. Hayes.
Creamy, a 1957 graduate of Bethune-Cookman College (now University), emerged from the segregated school system of St. Petersburg in Pinellas County, Florida. Music held a special place in his heart from a young age.
But Creamy's impact extended far beyond his musical talents. He instilled in me and his students a deep appreciation for the value of education and the importance of building generational wealth. His teachings went beyond the notes and melodies; he believed in equipping individuals with the tools they needed to succeed in life.
